MAN'S BIRTHRIGHT OF DOMINION

Gaining dominion over the bondage of evil in any form is a cause for gratitude, and the Christian Scientist rejoices when through the application of scientific truth discordant conditions are replaced with harmony. Man's birthright as the heir of God assures him of abundant good every moment.

To mortal sense we often seem to be at the mercy of circumstances over which we have no control. But Christian Science reveals that God, divine Love, governs all harmoniously. No condition is ever beyond the reach of ever-present, all-encompassing Love. The understanding that man is God's reflection and therefore never subservient to matter or mortal mind brings freedom and joy, for healing inevitably follows spiritualization of thought.

The Bible contains many inspiring accounts of mankind's victory over evil. When these are studied in the light of Christian Science, they are found to be of inestimable value in solving the problems confronting us. A woman suffering from a severe pain in her neck and shoulder, which made it impossible for her to move her head or lift her arms, called upon a student of Christian Science for help. Turning prayerfully to the Bible for inspiration, the student opened to the book of Genesis where she read the account of Jacob and Esau. The account relates that when Esau learned that his father's blessing had been fraudulently obtained by his younger brother, Jacob, Esau "lifted up his voice, and wept" (Gen. 27:38).
