The healing power of the Christ, Truth, as taught by Jesus and set forth in this age by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has been witnessed many times by the members of our family. Whenever I have faithfully applied what I have learned in Christian Science and listened for God's voice, the healing has been quick and complete. If a sense of self has gotten in the way, then sometimes I have had to go the long way round and take a while to realize the presence of God and the absence of the erroneous sense that had been evident as sickness, lack, or other discord.

One day while ripping a few seams when sewing, I plunged the point of a razor blade into one of my fingers. Quickly I washed and dried it on a towel, without examining it. As I declared the truth of God and man aloud, a sense of nausea stopped as quickly as it had started. Realizing that I was in reality entitled to perfection and could claim it as my own, because God had bestowed it upon me, I felt free and dismissed the matter from thought.

That evening I remembered the morning's incident and looked at my hands closely. The skin on all fingers was unmarred. I could not find the one that had been cut, and so complete was the healing that I did not remember which finger it was.
