I have had many healings through Christian Science. The first one was of appendicitis. I knew nothing about Science, but a friend persuaded me to ask help of a practitioner. She gave me immediate treatment, and as a result I felt so free the next morning that I got up early and cut the grass. I was entirely well. Later an acute attack of rheumatism, which made me almost helpless, was completely healed in a few weeks through Christian Science treatment, and I have never had a return of it.

Another healing for which I am grateful was that of a sprained ankle. The sprain occurred one evening, and when I went to bed I could not bear the weight of the bedclothes on it, nor could I get comfortable in any way. Then I thought, "I will rejoice, even if I am not comfortable." I sang aloud all the hymns I could remember from the Christian Science Hymnal, and then I fell asleep. When I wakened the next morning, there was no trace of the injury. This healing was due entirely to my replacing discordant thoughts with the joy of Spirit. Our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, has shown us the way of healing which all may practice, and for this we owe her endless gratitude.
