"Our gratitude is riches" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 249). Because of Christian Science, I feel that I am a very rich man, having untold precious treasures of spiritual unfoldment and of gratitude.

I am humbly grateful for our periodicals. An editorial in the Sentinel changed my life, healing me of despondency, self-pity, and frustration. This healing and Mrs. Eddy's definition of Church, as given on page 583 of Science and Health, caused me to join a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. Since then avenues of spiritual activity as an usher and as a member of the literature distribution committee have opened to me.

Spiritual progress came through a rebuke given by a practitioner. I stated that I had stood in the foyer after the Sunday morning service each week, and over a period of six years only six persons had spoken to me. Immediately the practitioner said: "That is pharisaism. How many people did you speak to? Perhaps the person standing next to you was a beginner in the study of Christian Science, or perhaps he was a stranger, passing through the city." Humbly accepting the rebuke, I began to express unselfed love in greeting one person after another, and lo, love came back to me a thousandfold!
