"If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (II Cor. 5:17). Christian Science has made this Bible truth practical for me. My experiences in Science have been so numerous that I could fill many pages with them. Here I can tell only a few of them to show the reader that God is today just as present and as ready to heal as He was nearly two thousand years ago, when Christ Jesus demonstrated God's healing power.

I was brought up in Christian Science. My first healings took place while I was a regular pupil in a Christian Science Sunday School. I was healed of a rash on both arms. Then I was healed of enlarged tonsils, which the school physician told my parents would have to be removed because I always breathed through my mouth. The tonsils were not removed, but work in Christian Science was taken up, and in a short time I could breathe with my mouth closed.

In 1918 I was healed of the grippe within fifteen minutes after a Christian Science practitioner was called to my bedside. It was through this healing that I realized for the first time God's greatness and glory. I should therefore like to tell of this experience more fully. On the second day of the attack I was in bed with an inflamed throat, unable to swallow. My mother sent for a practitioner. As she was sitting by my bed praying for me, a feeling such as I had never before known came over me. I lost all sense of heaviness, and I felt well. When the practitioner left I was healed. I was so overwhelmed and so filled with gratitude that I got up and went to the piano, where I expressed my gratitude to God in music.
