Christian Science came into my life after my mother's healing of a severe nervous breakdown. My sister and I were enrolled in the Sunday School, and from that time till the present day, approximately forty years, my every need has been supplied by this wonderful truth.

As I was growing up, the understanding of God as ever-present, infinite Love kept me free from illness and discord of every kind. Our two children were born under Christian Science treatment, and both births were most harmonious. So-called children's diseases, such as chicken pox, mumps, and whooping cough, were quickly healed. Overnight healings of scarlet fever and of pneumonia were accomplished with the loving help of practitioners. Crossed eyes were straightened by the understanding that man cannot be at cross purposes with good but exists for one purpose only— that of glorifying God.

A healing that stands out to me was one which our young son had. It became apparent that some nasal obstruction made his breathing labored and difficult. I worked on the problem from time to time, knowing that the son of God could reflect only perfection and that nothing could obstruct the complete harmony of his experience, but no improvement was evidenced. Finally members of my family who were not Christian Scientists felt that a medical examination was necessary, and that if an operation were recommended, then it should be performed.
