Since childhood I have had the blessing of always having Christian Science at hand, and it has met my every need. Before my brother and I were of school age, we had mastoiditis and were confined to a hospital under the care of an eminent physician. When the physician said that an immediate operation for each of us was necessary, my parents turned to Christian Science. The prayers of a practitioner soon resulted in recovery for both of us, and Christian Science has been my only medicine ever since.

One Fourth of July, when I was a small boy, a large firecracker exploded in my hand and seriously injured it. I remember that a practitioner was called, and that afternoon I left on a trip with my family. In a few days not a sign of the accident was left. Not long after that I was playing a game in the street with other children, and one of them accidentally jumped on my hand with the full force of his heel. I was taken into the house. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and within a few hours I could move my fingers with complete freedom, although they had appeared badly mangled a short time before.

At one time my brother and I were fishing. A hooked plug was cast, and the hooks lodged in the back of my head. We both were pupils in the Christian Science Sunday School; so we immediately declared the truths we had learned there and at home. The deeply embedded hooks were removed with no pain or bleeding.
