I am truly grateful for Christian Science...
I am truly grateful for Christian Science and for the revelation, inspiration, and spiritual understanding that is daily unfolding in my consciousness. My love for and appreciation of Mrs. Eddy for her unselfish work in giving us this practical Science continue to grow.
I should like to share a healing that I had some time ago. One evening as I was leaving my apartment, I fell headlong down five steps leading to the sidewalk. As I was falling, the thought that came to me was, "I am all right; I am all right." A neighbor helped me to my feet. There was pain in my wrist, side, and ankle; so I returned to my apartment.
One of the statements that came to me was from page 258 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy. Here she says, "Never born and never dying, it were impossible for man, under the government of God in eternal Science, to fall from his high estate." I declared that since God cannot fall, I, as His image and likeness, could not and had not fallen; so there could be no result from a fall that had never occurred. Mrs. Eddy says on page 393 of Science and Health, "Have no fear that matter can ache, swell, and be inflamed as the result of a law of any kind, when it is self-evident that matter can have no pain nor inflammation." So each time a twinge of pain would come, I would say: "No, you don't. I will not accept you." I declared and maintained that matter could not of itself swell or be inflamed. Also, I knew that false suggestion is powerless to limit or hinder man's freedom, activity, joy, and dominion. I had very little discomfort, was not absent from my work, and was not curtailed in my activity in any way. All evidence of the fall soon disappeared.
