RADIO PROGRAM No. 114 - Our Greatest Cause for Gratitude

On this program Mrs. Falba Reed Newby of Kansas City, Missouri, told of her own experience. The program was as follows:

Speaker: Have you ever stopped to think of all the things you can be grateful for? Probably all of us could come up with quite a list. Our guest today expresses gratitude particularly for God's goodness and the power of divine Truth, and the experience she's going to tell us about will show why she has so much cause for gratitude. We'd like you to meet Mrs. Falba Reed Newby of Kansas City, Missouri. Go right ahead, Mrs. Newby.

Mrs. Newby: Yes, I'll be very happy to. For so many years I suffered from a rare type of inward goiter that there were times I felt I couldn't go on. All kinds of remedies were tried, including electric treatments and different kinds of shots. Also, I took all kinds of medicines that were prescribed by different doctors. It was finally decided that surgery might help, but a surgeon was not sure that I would be better. The goiter was the kind that caused a lot of other things, like a heart disturbance and almost continuous pain. There was much nervousness, and I had such a hard time sleeping that I was compelled to take opiates for years. I grew steadily worse, and it seemed pretty hopeless to me.
