More than forty years ago Christian Science was presented to me by a dear neighbor after I had expressed my opinion that I could no longer believe in a God who allowed our loved ones to be sick and die because He wanted them to come to Him. This neighbor asked me if I would care to study Christian Science. I answered in the affirmative, and she lent me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. What a revelation that little book was! I saw that its logic is perfect, and I thought of what a wonderful woman Mrs. Eddy must have been to give us such a revelation.

Shortly after I returned the textbook I had mumps. Because of my age, dire predictions were put forth, and a doctor was called. He prescribed medicine, but I never took it, and in two days I was free. The fear of sickness had been eliminated by the knowledge I had gained from the textbook that God is the only creator; therefore disease is unreal.

Before long I procured my own copy of Science and Health. Since then I have seen many demonstrations of the power of Truth. I was saved from an operation through standing firm for Christian Science. In addition, I was healed of influenza. I had been subject to attacks of it each year, but in 1914 I was healed, and there has been no return of the trouble. Mrs. Eddy's elucidation of the twenty-third Psalm given on page 578 of our textbook healed me of a badly sprained ankle. A case of blood poisoning was healed when I corrected the resentment I was holding against a relative.
