RADIO PROGRAM No. 106 - You Are Free!
On this program Mrs. Bessie Lee Bryant of Baltimore, Maryland, told of her own experience. The program was as follows:
Speaker: Probably the greatest drama of our times is the struggle for greater freedom, all mankind's continuing struggle for freedom from limitation, from poverty and ignorance, freedom from political oppression. Today we'd like to discuss another aspect of freedom, freedom from disease and suffering, and show how this is available to each one of us. Our guest today is a woman from Maryland, Mrs. Bessie Lee Bryant of Baltimore, and she's going to tell us an inspiring personal experience. Mrs. Bryant, when did you become interested in Christian Science?
Mrs. Bryant: It was about fifteen years ago, after a relative was healed by turning to it. Later I went to Christian Science lectures and read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. But I didn't really understand much of Christian Science nor accept it as a way of life. But in 1945 I was confined to bed for a period of three months with a heart condition which the doctor diagnosed as angina pectoris. During that time a friend, who is a Christian Scientist, wrote to me. She reminded me of the lectures we had attended together and mentioned some of the helpful things we had heard about the relationship of God and man, the real man.
