On an ever-memorable occasion a friend introduced me to Christian Science. At that time I had been regularly going to a doctor for two years because of eczema.

After gaining a small knowledge of Christian Science, I asked the doctor why I had not been cured. His reply was, "Well, yours is a very difficult case, and your age is against you." As I came out of his consulting room the thought came to me, "Now I must decide in whom I will put my trust, in God or mortal man." I knew that a mortal cannot be equal to God and that God is the only power. Needless to say, I gave up the doctor and requested help of a Christian Science practitioner. The eczema quickly disappeared, and it has never returned. In addition, other complaints, which I had not mentioned to the practitioner, quickly vanished also.

I cannot say how grateful I am for Mrs. Eddy's long and persistent search for the truth, which enables us to gain a better understanding of the Bible. My continued study of Christian Science has resulted in a great improvement in my general health and has enabled me to give up smoking. On one particular Saturday I purchased my usual monthly supply of tobacco and cigarettes. A purification of my thought must have taken place as a result of the Sunday morning service at a Church of Christ, Scientist, for on the following Monday I had lost all desire to smoke again. I am truly grateful to God for all His blessings.
