It is impossible to express all the gratitude I feel for Christian Science. I accepted an invitation to go to a lecture on this Science, not knowing anything about its teachings. I grasped almost at once the freedom Christian Science gives from all ills and left the lecture feeling as though I were walking on air. The words, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32), were ringing in my ears. Up to that time I had belonged to another denomination and had taught in its Sunday school for fifteen years, but after this lecture I gave up my membership, for I clearly saw that Christian Science is the truth that makes mankind free.

An early healing I received through Christian Science was one of bronchitis and influenza. The healing came when I refused all material remedies and held to God's promise (Rev. 21:6), "I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely." On another occasion coughing was overcome when I realized that the only thing to be consumed was a belief in anything being unlike God.

After I had tried unsuccessfully to overcome food poisoning, a practitioner was called. She lovingly came to my home, where she sat by my side and read from "Unity of Good" by Mrs. Eddy. In half an hour I was entirely free.
