In 1922 I was troubled with boils under my left arm. I had suffered from them for six months during the previous year. When a relative recommended Christian Science to me, I went to see a practitioner and purchased the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I read it thoughtfully, and within a week the boils disappeared.

Since that time Christian Science has been my only physician. My relatives wanted me to have medical help for a cyst, which was as large as an orange. I did not do so, however, and it was healed in two months through the help of a Christian Science practitioner. I had suffered from this difficulty for several years, and four doctors had told me that only a surgical operation would offer the slightest hope of healing it. A case of throat infection, which caused me to lose my voice entirely, also yielded with the help of a practitioner, and my voice was restored.

In February, 1934, I had an attack of rheumatism. One evening I could not move even to get into bed. My mother telephoned to a practitioner, but it was his little girl, about twelve years old, who answered. She said that her parents were not there, but that she would do the work. In several minutes I was again able to move. Afterward the practitioner came to see me, and with his help and my own careful study of Science and Health I was able to be up in four days, and in a month I was completely free from the rheumatism. In the fall of 1936 it attacked me again, but it was conquered in a few days and has not returned.
