For thirty-three years I have enjoyed countless benefits from the study of Christian Science. I did not become a student because I needed physical healing, but was much impressed by the love reflected toward me in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, which I attended several times upon the invitations of a young woman who had been healed of the narcotic habit. I was not desirous of applying myself to the teachings of Christian Science at that time, but I made the statement that if I ever needed a religion, I would accept Christian Science.

Later, while defending Christian Science from criticism by a relative and by an ordained minister, I was startled to have words proceed from my lips which I hardly recognized as my own and which silenced the criticism instantly. The happy day came when I wanted the fruitage that Christian Science offers, and I began to attend a branch church and to study the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. Soon a strong desire for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church was fulfilled, and for this I shall always be most grateful.

Through the help of a practitioner I had a harmonious experience at the birth of each of my two children. I did not spend a single day in bed after either birth, something unusual thirty years ago. In rearing the children I was faced with numerous inharmonious conditions. With the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner a broken arm was set in an hour. A quick healing of whooping cough in my family influenced a neighbor to send her children to the Christian Science Sunday School.
