WORKMEN APPROVED OF GOD

It is generally agreed among men that food, shelter, and clothing are needed to sustain human existence. And most inhabitants of the earth toil daily to meet these needs for themselves and for their families.

Centuries ago Christ Jesus pointed the way to righteous toil and prosperity for all men when he said (John 6:27), "Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you." And he showed men how to labor for the true meat. He told them not to be concerned about their daily supplies of food, clothing, and shelter, but to seek first and always the kingdom of heaven and its righteousness. As the result, he declared, all human needs would be supplied through God-directed activities and associations.

Christian Science teaches us how to seek and find the kingdom of heaven and to enjoy all of its resources. This spiritual progress is manifested in human experience by harmonious working conditions and abundant supplies for daily needs. Through seeking the kingdom of heaven we experience constant improvement in human activities. This kingdom is actually the power of God expressed in our daily lives.
