The high standard maintained by our periodicals in expressing genuine Christian Science has inspired me for forty years. They accord with the spirit of Mrs. Eddy's writings. That one's understanding of Christian Science is protected by studying only authorized literature is seen in the fact that by doing so I was not kept by illness from my post during my three years' term as a First Reader. In the sixteen years that I held a statistical position I missed only one day from the office. When I resigned from that work one of my associates said to me, "I notice that you are never sick."

I am grateful for the bound volumes of The Christian Science Journal and Sentinel which are kept for study in the Reading Rooms. Using their indexes, one can review the guiding notices from The Christian Science Board of Directors. This is just one of their helpful features.

During my forty years as a student of Christian Science I have found invaluable the daily study of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy. I have been active in branch churches and in college organizations, and I have never seen a problem in church work which could not be harmoniously solved by obedience to the Manual. Its study has healed me instantaneously many times, and its spiritual meaning is still richly unfolding to me.
