"The Christian Science God is...

"The Christian Science God is universal, eternal, divine Love, which changeth not and causeth no evil, disease, nor death." These words, found on page 140 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, marked the beginning for me of a study which has resulted in the complete transformation of my life. For many years I sought a religion with just such a God, and now that I have found it an increasing understanding of its teachings has resulted in freedom from false and limiting beliefs which had for the greater part of my life held me in bondage. The revelation of Truth in my consciousness has lifted me out of working conditions in which I was extremely unhappy into a position where I not only am happy, but am doing work of a nature which had been considered quite impossible for me before I knew of Christian Science.

I have experienced many physical healings, some quickly and some more slowly, but each leaving me with an increased understanding of our beloved Science. An instantaneous healing which I should like to relate glows yet in my thought. I awakened during the night very sick with a distressing stomach condition. Working as we are taught to do in Christian Science, I received some relief, but when morning came I did not know whether I would be able to go to my work, and once there, whether I would be able to perform my duties. However, within me was the certainty that if I made the effort, I would be in my rightful place.

I managed to reach my place of business and was able to get out my books for the day's work. Having done that, I felt obliged to go into my sister's home, which was next door. There I found that three other members of my family were suffering from the same condition which was distressing me. In my hand I carried a letter from my teacher in Christian Science, and although it was relevant to an entirely different subject, as I read it aloud these words stood out with startling clarity: "The answer to this problem is the fact that there is only one Mind, infinite, eternal, omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient In the realm of this Mind, there is no rupture, disquiet, or impairment. We must accept this without reservation. We shall then see that error, being impotent, has no agent through which to act."
