THE NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH

The light and glory of divine intelligence are the real substance of man's being. Spirit is the clear atmosphere of the new heaven and new earth, in which we see our brother man as God's image and likeness. Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 91), "Have you ever pictured this heaven and earth, inhabited by beings under the control of supreme wisdom?" It is well to think upon this great statement, ponder it often, and assimilate the truth it contains.

The perfect model must come to thought before its mental outlines can be manifested. The human mind shrinks from accepting perfection, preferring to believe it to be transcendental, but this was not the view of Mrs. Eddy, the revelator of Christian Science. Christian Science demands the purification of thought which makes the new heaven and new earth a practical reality. The pure atmosphere of spiritual understanding makes all things pure. Each object seen in this true light stands out clearly defined and perfectly presented.

The quality of purity is characteristic of the kingdom of God. Without purity of thought we cannot enter the kingdom. Without purity of thought the focus would be faulty and the vision of reality blurred.
