I should like to express my gratitude...

I should like to express my gratitude for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church and for the blessed privilege of doing church work. Also I should like to tell of a healing I experienced in connection with this work.

Although I had been very active in a profession and as a homemaker, my ability to think clearly left me. For a period of about six months I could find no peace or joy, and I slept but very little. I attended all our church services and many Christian Science lectures, however. In addition I spent many hours studying the Bible, the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, and reading our Christian Science periodicals. The argument persisted that I did not understand Science, although I had been a student of it for many years and had had many healings. I shall always be grateful to the patient and loving practitioners who helped me at different times throughout this experience.

During this time I worked on the literature distribution committee of a branch church, Where it was my duty to wrap and address packages of literature. I did this with great difficulty, as I could scarcely remember even a part of the address when I glanced from the copy, but somehow I finished my task each week. Then one day I found that I could remember the addresses completely. The joy I experienced brightened my whole being. Shortly after this I had the privilege of spending two weeks at the Sanatorium of the Christian Science Benevolent Association on Pacific Coast. While there I realized that my healing was complete. This healing took place several years ago, and it has been permanent.
