Katonah, New York (First Church).

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Katonah, held dedication services in their church edifice, Bedford Road and Parkway, on Sunday, at 11 o'clock in the morning and 4 o'clock in the afternoon. A brief history of the church follows:

In 1917 two students of Christian Science met in their homes for the purpose of reading the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, which consist of excerpts from the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Gradually others joined them. A month later, Wednesday evening testimony meetings were held. In 1919 this group was recognized as Christian Science Society, Katonah, a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1929 the society became First Church of Christ, Scientist, Katonah. The first Sunday School was organized in 1922.
