Thanks to a knowledge of Christian Science...
Thanks to a knowledge of Christian Science I can say with the Psalmist (Ps. 23:5), "My cup runneth over." Blessings which I have derived from this Christ Science include health, happiness, and a zest for living. I have had constant opportunity to demonstrate an understanding of Christian Science as I have traveled about the world.
While in the Navy during the Second World War, I visited many Christian Science churches in the United States and attended services at various naval bases in the islands of the Pacific. After graduation from college, where I enjoyed helpful association with a group of Christian Science students, I set off on a bicycle tour of Europe. During this experience I attended Science services in the capitals of six nations and realized more fully the universality of the Christian Science movement.
Our Leader's hymn entitled "Love" (Poems by Mrs. Eddy, pp. 6, 7) continually came to mind as I experienced the hospitality and generosity of Scientists and other loving Christians. The last lines were particularly appropriate:
