I owe to Christian Science a debt...

I owe to Christian Science a debt of sincere gratitude. Before my parents took up the study of this Science and placed me in the Sunday School, I was continually ill with one ailment or another. Each winter I had one or more attacks of severe aching in my ears, and I usually had a cold all winter. After I started to attend the Sunday School, however, these difficulties gradually disappeared.

Later I yielded to the temptation of mortal mind to leave the Sunday School and relax my study. Thereafter I acquired some worldly habits, one of which was smoking; and three times I came down with pneumonia. Each time I turned again to the study of Christian Science, and with the help of a loving practitioner I was healed. Still I did not awaken to the need for daily study and spiritual growth.

On two different occasions I was burned about the face by explosions—once when a customer lighted a match at my elbow as I was filling a gasoline tank, and another time when I attempted to light an electrically controlled gas furnace. On each of these occasions with the help of a practitioner all evidence of the burns was gone in a few days.
