I wish to express gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for sharing with the world her discovery of Christian Science. The members of my family have experienced a number of healings.

Some years ago our daughter had an abscess in her ear. When the pain became severe I called a practitioner, who came immediately to the house. She asked for the Christian Science Hymnal and took it into the room where the child lay crying. In a few minutes the crying ceased. After about half an hour the practitioner left the room; my daughter was sleeping peacefully. The practitioner returned the Hymnal, referring me to Hymn No. 382, which begins,
