With a deep sense of love and gratitude to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her great gift of Christian Science to the world, I am impelled to give this testimony. A number of years ago, I was healed of prolapse of internal organs, a condition which caused me much distress and anxiety. We had three young children, and I could not care for them nor perform the necessary daily duties of a household.

In our home was the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Finally I took it up and opened it to the first chapter, entitled "Prayer." There I read on page 1, "Desire is prayer." My desire was to understand something about Christian Science, and I became so entirely engrossed in Mrs. Eddy's explanation of true prayer that a false concept of God which I had entertained, but was not aware of, was corrected. This new glimpse of a wholly good God, a God who is Love, ever present and available at all times and under all circumstances, was truly the answer to my prayer.

With this small understanding of God I was completely released from the physical difficulty and free to go about my household duties and care for our children. The physical body was lost sight of in the realization of the fact that God is Love and altogether good. This healing was sufficient evidence to me that Christian Science is the Comforter promised by Jesus.
