The Bible is the record of a progressive revelation. It tells how God revealed Himself to men—not once, but bit by bit as they were able to receive it. The story of this revelation goes back to the call by God to a man named Abraham. It tells further how God chose a special people to reveal Himself to them, and that they in turn might make Him known to all men.
