I became interested in Christian Science...
I became interested in Christian Science about fifteen years ago while I was visiting a girlhood friend. She asked me if I wanted to read the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly with her. As we read I saw the truth so clearly that I at once became a student of Christian Science. I had been taking a tablespoon of mineral oil every night for thirty-five years, but from that day to this not another drop of medicine has passed my lips.
Since then my every problem has been met, whether it has been physical, financial, or some other kind. The words (Ps. 138:8), "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me," have been very helpful to me. I am a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church, where I enjoy serving.
One day I struck my head against the front door of a house with much force. Immediately I claimed God's healing power, and these words came to me (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 392): "Stand porter at the door of thought. Admitting only such conclusions as you wish realized in bodily results, you will control yourself harmoniously." Although my condition was serious, I was able to rise above it mentally and hold my thought to spiritual reality. I attended a Christian Science lecture the next night and a church service the following Sunday morning. The abrasions soon disappeared, and I was completely free.
