When Christian Science found...

When Christian Science found me I was in the depths of despair. I had tried to live a Christian life, but had got little comfort from life. I had rheumatism so badly that I could not sleep while lying down. A doctor told me that I should go to another climate; so we moved to California, but I did not get any better.

Someone gave me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I read it almost steadily for two weeks. Some time later I got very damp, and the thought came to me that I would be in bed for a week with rheumatism. Then I realized that for some time I had not even thought about the rheumatism. It has never returned in the thirty-five years since then.

My husband was healed in one treatment of the liquor habit. He had drunk excessively for twenty-five years and had thought of suicide as the only way out of this problem.
