My mother suffered attacks of acute pain and illness for over four years. A specialist diagnosed the trouble as gallstones, and she was given drugs and baths and placed on a rigid diet, without any permanent relief. She refused to undergo an operation; so when a friend suggested that she try Christian Science, she did so as a last hope. With treatment from a practitioner she improved steadily until she was well. From then on she had good health, led an exceptionally active life for more than thirty years, and lived to be over eighty.

I am indeed grateful that I had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School, where I learned to prove the truth for myself, but it was not until after I had married and had a child that I began to study Christian Science seriously. At that time I was living in India, far from any branch Church of Christ, Scientist. I became a member of The Mother Church, however, and after this step I was led to meet other students of Christian Science and formed many happy friendships with them.

I have found Christian Science an invaluable help in every problem. Various so-called children's diseases disappeared after treatment from a practitioner. In every case the discomfort lasted only a very short time, and there was no convalescent period. Other healings were those of jaundice, constipation, bronchitis, and a large boil.
