SUPPORT

"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." These opening words of the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (Pref., p. vii), assure us of the absolute confidence with which we can rely on God, divine Principle. We need no other support than our all-loving, ever-living Father-Mother God, who upholds and directs us as we lean upon the sustaining strength of Spirit.

Mortal mind claims to support its so-called mortal creation, but such support is feeble and insecure. When man's relationship to God is understood, we at once realize that all government, control, and support belongs to God, of whom man is the perfect reflection.

In Christian Science we learn of God's supporting power, and with this understanding we can support one another. The Apostle Paul wrote (Gal. 6:2), "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ." In order to help our brother we must first fortify our own understanding with the supporting power of divine Love. We must feel this spiritual support upholding us under all circumstances. If we uphold in consciousness anything that is unlike good, then we must discard this false reliance and entertain a deeper confidence in the power of Love to support us in every problem.
