Christian Science was presented to me while I was taking a university course in health education. I found that the circumstances were like those in Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares, which grew side by side until the harvest (Matt. 13:24-30). As I saw it Christian Science corresponded to the wheat and the false education to the tares. I realized that the latter must be put aside for the former.

I was healed of smoking and of social drinking through my study of Christian Science. The desire for smoking left me without an effort during my early study of Science. Previous attempts of mine to stop smoking by using will power had been unsuccessful. A sprained ankle was healed within an hour when I realized that God's child is ever at one with God, just as a ray of sunshine is ever at one with the sun. In our family of three there have been healings of cuts, burns, headaches, and other ailments through our own understanding of Truth.

While our family was in the country for a week end our daughter sustained a severe injury to her nose. I took her in my arms and endeavored to see her true selfhood as God's child. Then a call was made requesting help from a practitioner, who took up the work immediately. Presently the little girl was sleeping peacefully. My wife and I endeavored to realize that an injured child is not God's perfect idea, as a mistake in mathematics is not the correct answer. The child expressed no discomfort at any time. Within a week all signs of the accident had disappeared; we were grateful beyond words.
