Christian Science was presented to me during the severe influenza epidemic of 1918 after the doctor had told my parents that he had done all he could for me and that now we would have to try a higher power. Just one neighbor was brave enough to come to our home. She was a Christian Scientist.

After telling us about the healing power of God she asked if we would like to read some Christian Science literature. A Sentinel was lovingly given to us, and it was read from cover to cover during the week. I was completely healed, and the following Sunday my mother and I accompanied this neighbor to a service in a Christian Science church. I at once resumed my regular duties, and for thirty-four years I have had freedom and joy as a result of my turning wholeheartedly to God through Christian Science.

My son, who was born with the help of Christian Science, never experienced so-called children's diseases. He was blessed with the privilege of receiving his college degree from a school for the sons and daughters of Christian Scientists. He has been protected and guided every step of the way by adhering to the teachings received in the Christian Science Sunday School.
