"Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart" (Jer. 29:13). The truth of these words was proved when Christian Science was presented to me twenty-four years ago, after I had searched many years for a better understanding of God than my earlier religious training had given me. My first reading of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy answered so many questions which had previously puzzled me that I knew I had found the truth.

After several years of study, one morning I was seized with severe pain in my side. For some days I endeavored to see its unreality as taught in Christian Science, but my efforts were without success. Later I became conscious of a growth developing, which gradually increased in size. Fear tried to turn me to medical science, but I recognized my opportunity to prove the Science of Christianity that I had been studying.

Returning home one evening, I picked up a copy of The Christian Science Monitor and found in it a Christian Science lecture that had been given in The Mother Church. I began to read this, but with no thought of healing. After some time I became so conscious of the presence of God that for a while I ceased to read. Oblivious to everything but the "peace of God, which passeth all understanding" (Phil. 4:7), my thought became so uplifted that suddenly I knew I was completely healed. This proved to be true, for the physical evidence of the growth entirely disappeared, and it never returned. Other healings I have experienced include the setting of broken bones without any material aid and instantaneous freedom from any sense of loss or separation at the passing of my mother.
