In Isaiah we read (54:13), "All...

In Isaiah we read (54:13), "All thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children." This promise was beautifully fulfilled some years ago when our daughter, then a small child, was taken to the circus by her aunt. About the middle of the afternoon a severe thunderstorm came up, and a cloudburst occurred right over the circus area. Part of the main framework was struck by lightning, causing the tent to rip and let in the downpour. The animals that were performing at the time became frightened and appeared to get beyond the control of the men in charge of them.

The child's aunt afterward told me that she had never felt such intense fear in her life and that the temptation to faint was almost overwhelming. She quickly realized that she must not do so because she had the child in her care. As she turned to look for her a woman standing nearby said, "I was never in such terror in my life, but as I looked into the face of that little child with you and saw such peace it all left me."

Later that evening, as we talked it over, the child said, "I knew God was right there and we couldn't be separated from Him." This was a great proof that the teaching in the Christian Science Sunday School bears fruit. Words could never express the gratitude I feel for having had Christian Science in raising a son and a daughter, and I should like particularly to express my sincere appreciation of articles which appear from time to time in The Christian Science Monitor on the subject of parent and child relationship. Many of these articles have answered my needs and have proved great blessings throughout the years.—(Mrs.) Eleanore E. Miles, Arlington, Virginia.
