In gratitude to God for our revered Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I testify to the healing power of Christian Science. I have been enjoying God's goodness through the study and application of this Science for many years, and I should like to add my word of praise and thanksgiving to Him for the peace of mind that it has given me. Far more important to me than the physical healings I have had is the fact that I have found God to be an ever-present, ever-available, ever-loving God.

"Science and Health with Key to the Scripture" by Mary Baker Eddy was given to me by a sister, to whom I shall always be grateful. In my search for the truth I had visited many churches of different denominations, but they had not satisfied me. I believed in an uncertain way that God is Love and all-power, but I could not reconcile such a God with the evil that was happening around me. After reading Science and Health, which explains evil as unreal, I knew that I had found the truth. That conviction has never changed in all the years since then.

Many times I have been healed of discords, sometimes through the study of our Leader's writings and at other times with the help of a Christian Science practitioner. One healing that seemed wonderful to me was that of a torn piece of skin on my hand. Going out to the garden to cut some flowers, I caught my hand on a rough part of the door and tore the skin. When I looked at it, it was bleeding, and the skin was torn back. This message from Science and Health (p. 393) came to me: "Your body would suffer no more from tension or wounds than the trunk of a tree which you gash or the electric wire which you stretch, were it not for mortal mind." About an hour later I had occasion to look at my hand. It had healed and was perfectly normal. I had been helped in many ways before and have been since then, but the healing mentioned above has made the greatest impression on me.
