Camp Welfare Activities

In May, 1952, branch churches and societies in Great Britain and Ireland were notified of the formation of a British branch of the Christian Science Camp Welfare Activities of The Mother Church. The object of this branch is to be of service to Christian Scientists, both men and women, in H. M. Forces.

The work is under the general direction of Colin Rücker Eddison, District Manager of the Christian Science Committees on Publication for Great Britain and Ireland, particularly as regards any official contacts with the Admiralty, War Office, and Air Ministry . Col. Francis L. Roupell, M. C., was appointed by The Christian Science Board of Directors as Camp Welfare Worker in London and co-ordinator of the Camp Welfare Workers elsewhere with the British Forces.

Camp Welfare Workers have been appointed to serve in the neighborhood of five of the large military training centers in England, and further appointments will be made as the work unfolds.
