It is with a heart full of gratitude...

It is with a heart full of gratitude that I give this testimony of the loving care and protection of our heavenly Father, who answers before we call. One day my three sons and I were returning home from the Christian Science Sunday School when a car swerved out from the opposite line of traffic, ran into the side of our car, and threw it into a deep ditch.

I do not know just when I began to realize our unity with God, but He had already met our need. As I helped each child out of the car, I said to him, "You are God's child; you are in His care; and you are all right." It was found that no one was hurt.

Then I realized that if we were in reality God's children, so was the young man who was the driver of the other car. Never for an instant did I allow myself to condemn him either in words or in thoughts. Although he carried no automobile insurance, and people told us that we would never be paid for the damage to our car, with the loving help of a practitioner I was able to see the young man as in reality God's honest and upright child. His salary was not large, and the damage to our car was considerable, but he gave us his note for the entire amount and promised to reduce it by weekly payments. These he sent without fail. In a few months he wrote that he was going into the Army and would double his payments, as he wished to pay the entire amount before his induction. Soon the damage to our car was entirely paid for.
