"Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matt. 6:33). This practical promise of Christ Jesus' is constantly being fulfilled in my experience since I have taken up the study of Christian Science.

A little over six years ago, while overseas with the Royal Canadian Air Force, I spent my last leave in London, England. One afternoon I went into a Christian Science Rest Center. I had been drinking and smoking most of the day but had found no enjoyment in doing so. In that Rest Center, however, my thought was pacified and my questions were answered. I was loaned a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and while reading this book for the first time I felt outside of this material world.

That night I began to realize the healing efficacy of Christian Science. A growth on my body, which would have to be removed by surgery, according to the medical officer, started to discharge, and by morning it had disappeared entirely. For this healing, my first, I am indeed very grateful. Later I awakened to the fact that I no longer used alcohol or tobacco and had not done so since I started to read the textbook.
