I caught my first glimpse of...
I caught my first glimpse of Christian Science when I was a child in California and attended a Church of Christ, Scientist, with a friend and her parents. The seed of Truth was sown at that time, and although apparently hidden by the illusion of material sense during my school days and the early years of my marriage, it later flowered in my experience after a baby daughter passed on and I was left on the verge of a nervous breakdown and divorce.
I am grateful that I lived in a town where a Christian Science Society held meetings and that I was led to go to them. I began to study the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings, and as error was nullified and truth was cognized and retained I was healed of the nervous breakdown, and harmonious home relationships were gradually regained.
In the depression years we lost our business and our home; and although it seemed a calamity at the time, I know now that it was a blessing in disguise and that we needed to learn more fully the nothingness of materiality.
