Several times in the past I have written a testimony and have failed to send it in to be published. However, my eyes have been opened to the fact that I should enjoy writings a testimony as well as reading one, giving as well as receiving, thus making my testimony a love offering. With a right motive and a grateful heart, I now submit this testimony.

About five years ago I found myself gradually losing the use of my right arm. First, the elevator door seemed heavy and difficult to open. Then my desk seemed so high I thought seriously of having it lowered. Some days later, while I was trying to dress my hair, the arm fell limply to my side. I then felt it necessary to have help, and I asked for a Christian Science treatment. In a day or so fear possessed me, and I asked for further help. I told the practitioner what I thought might have caused the trouble; I also told him that I had found there was no muscle in the arm, even when it was doubled up. At that stage of my condition I was frantically examining the arm.

I was told that it would be more beneficial if I tried to realize my true spiritual selfhood instead of looking for material causes and conditions. Citations from the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy were given me, which I read with increasing understanding. Freedom from fear resulted, and I was sure the healing would come. In requesting the third and last treatment, I acknowledged the help already received. I was grateful to find it was not too heavy a door but too heavy a heart which needed lightening; not too high a desk but too low a mentality which needed adjusting.
