I WILL SING THE SONG OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

The song of Christian Science is, 'Work—work—work— watch and pray,' " says our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in her Message to The Mother Church for 1900 (p. 2). She evidently recognized the need of expressing Christian Science in a deeper and more demonstrable manner than is found in audible song alone. She included all the channels of human endeavor and inspiration associated with our beloved movement in the sweet song of service to mankind which she would have Christian Scientists send up to heaven.

The song of Christian Science may be recognized by its results. "By their fruits ye shall know them," said Jesus in his Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 7:20). When bringing forth the fruits of their consecrated labors Christian Scientists include the healing of disease as well as the correction or overcoming of sin, for the Master, Christ Jesus, conducted his healing mission on just such an unlimited basis.

Students of Christian Science are lovingly and rightfully impelled through the study of their Leader's works to rise above the timeworn concepts of God as the unknown, who deals out both good and evil, and of man as a mortal, subjected to such dealings. They come to understand that God is Love and early grasp the truth which was revealed to Mrs. Eddy respecting perfect God and perfect man, His image and likeness. Obedience to her doctrine of "work—work— work" naturally follows the profound truth that God is divine Love, the ever-present Father-Mother, the only influence, power, or Mind—all harmonious.
