My first healing in Christian Science...

My first healing in Christian Science was of typhoid fever. I then began the earnest study of Christian Science, and I am grateful to say that God has been my only physician, guide, and protector for many years. My children and I have been blessed and guarded. So-called children's diseases, as well as influenza, common colds, tonsillitis, burns, and broken ribs, have been healed, and lost articles have been miraculously found. Truly, as Mrs. Eddy tells us (Science and Health, p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."

I should like to tell especially of a healing of what I believe was rheumatism. For a few days several years ago, while I was serving as First Reader, I manifested severe lameness in my joints and muscles. However, I was at my post on Sunday morning as usual. I asked a practitioner for help, and it was lovingly given me. At the close of the service, however, I found that I could not take even one step without great difficulty. Some friends very kindly assisted me and followed me home.

As I was quite exhausted, I rested, and they went immediately for the practitioner, who came back with them and spent a couple of hours with me. I began to feel better very soon. I did not walk much for a few days, but with my husband's help and the aid of a cane I was able to get about and do the necessary housework, the practitioner continuing her good work for me. I spent much of my time reading and studying, thus working with her. In about two weeks I was quite free and back at my post. The difficulty completely disappeared and has never returned. Now if necessary I can run, as I did not long ago to catch a bus, although I am not what the world would call young.
