Christian Science means everything...

Christian Science means everything to me. When I was a child, my mother was healed of deafness through reading our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Through the years we both have been protected and guided by following to the best of our ability the precepts laid down for us by the great Master, Christ Jesus, and our Leader, Mrs. Eddy.

As a young woman I lost interest in church attendance; but as I grew older. I found there was something definitely lacking in my experience and started to go to church again. My understanding of Christian Science increased with my renewed interest in this religion, and the way opened for me to become a member of The Mother Church.

Shortly after that, rheumatism, which had bothered me over a period of years, assailed me with greater force. In fact, for almost two weeks I found it impossible to sleep on account of the severe pain. At first my mother worked for me and then a practitioner, but the condition did not improve. Then one day I read a testimony in the Sentinel by a woman who stated that healing came to her when she stopped wavering between medical help and Christian Science and took her stand for Science. She said that these words on page 492 of Science and Health brought her healing: "Discussing his campaign, General Grant said: 'I propose to fight it out on this line, if it takes all summer.' Science says: All is Mind and Mind's idea. You must fight it out on this line. Matter can afford you no aid."
