A GLORIOUS CAREER

[Of Special Interest to Young People]

A Group of friends who were students in a Christian Science Sunday School were discussing careers. The question was asked, "What is our true aim in life, and what are we trying to accomplish?" One said that his real aim was to learn more about Truth. Another told of his desire to help make the world a better place. The discussion brought out that the first step toward a successful career is to decide what true success is. Then all efforts can be directed toward reaching this goal. The conclusion was that, although each may play a different part in life, the underlying motive of a Christian Scientist is to live Christian Science.

It has been said, "Beware of what you want, for you will get it." Our basic purpose affects every thought and act. We tend to move in the direction of our prevailing thoughts, just as trees in windy places bend to the prevailing winds. If our aim and thoughts point Godward, then everything that we do will move in this direction, and we shall be successful.
