Religious Rights of Our School Children Protected

Printed cards entitled "Physical Examination and Re-Immunization Exemption" were prepared by the Territorial Board of Health and made available through practitioners, the clerks of our church and societies, and directly from the Committee on Publication. By use of these cards our children will be protected, and school personnel will become more and more aware of our endeavor to follow the teachings of Christian Science and of our constitutional right to do so. It should be remembered that humanity is seeking God and that every time we avail ourselves of recognition or exemption we help others as well as ourselves.

The increasing demand on the part of public health authorities to require mass medical examinations, to promote disease campaigns, and to enforce upon our children the study of bodily conditions and symptoms of disease must be unfalteringly resisted. Those responsible for these fallacious requirements should be lovingly and convincingly persuaded that it is the inherent right of Christian Scientists to be exempted from such regulations and requirements. We must appreciate and preserve the legal rights and exemption thus far attained and continue to press for our religious liberty until we have gained complete freedom from all restrictive medical requirements.
