For many years my life has been...
For many years my life has been enriched through the study of Christian Science. At one time in my experience I awakened to the realization that much that the human heart holds dear had been swept away; and I saw as never before how much my church membership meant to me. My gratitude, expressed through greater church activity and continuous study and application of Christian Science, has restored to me all that was lost, and with it has come a deeper love for and appreciation of the life-work of Mary Baker Eddy, our great Leader.
The following healing stands out as a beacon light in my experience. I had been rendered almost helpless by some discordant condition which interfered greatly with my breathing. Death seemed very near. A loving practitioner worked for me, and I held fast to the promise expressed in Hymn No. 359 in the Christian Science Hymnal, part of which reads, "Trust on and wait, the daystar yet shall gleam." I dozed off to sleep, and upon awakening a few minutes later I was very fearful. Then suddenly I began to thank God that only the good is true. Instantly the pressure in my head was released, and I could breathe freely. A peace which is beyond the power of words to express accompanied this healing.
At another time I was seized with pain so violent that it was impossible for me to stand upright. While I was talking over the telephone with a practitioner, I was instantly healed and walked away from the telephone free. That evening I attended a dinner party. Both of these healings took place about eleven years ago, and there has never been the slightest return of the difficulties.
