I am grateful to our Father-Mother God for revealing Christian Science to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. Through the teachings of this life-giving Science I have reaped untold benefits, which include physical difficulties healed, family problems solved, and financial difficulties overcome. I have also gained a sense of the ever-presence of God, divine Love, which has afforded me constant protection and guidance.

The supporting and directing power of God was proved to me in the following experiences. When I was thirteen, I became ill with tonsillitis, and because I was living with relatives a physician was called. After ten days of varying degrees of inharmony, I was freed. The next year at about the same time I became ill again, and the same physician was called. The third year the same trouble put in its appearance, but this time I was impelled by Love to insist that a Christian Science practitioner be called. In two days I was completely released and permanently healed. I learned from this experience the vast difference between medical treatment and Christian Science healing. I saw the importance of a determined stand to obey divine direction and the need of prayer; and I was grateful that my prayers were being heard.

When I was twenty-eight years old, I became ill with a disease which forced me to meet the aggressive suggestion that I needed a physical examination. This temptation persisted for several weeks until one evening, almost in desperation. I opened Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and read the following (p. 497): "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life." The words "sufficient guide" were emphasized in my thought. Divine Love was directing me to understand that a "sufficient guide" needed no additional guiding from a medical or any other so-called authority. Instantly the symptoms of disease disappeared, and health was expressed.
