That this testimony may hearten and encourage some weary traveler along the way is m sincere wish. My deep love and gratitude go out to God, who has led me out of many trials of chaos, misunderstandings, and mental confusion.

A loving practitioner was a great help to me at the painless birth of our son. He was healed of defective hearing through a practitioner's help. Later he had measles before he had fully recovered from scarlet fever, but suffered no aftereffects whatsoever.

On page 167 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy writes, "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." I am grateful for an experience I had which proved this statement to be true. It was a healing of a carbuncle at the base of my head. As the carbuncle grew worse and the strain of this experience became apparent to others, medical treatment was recommended by a member of my family. But I refused to listen to erroneous suggestions. The healing came about through my own work in Christian Science, by knowing that God could and would heal me. One evening as I was struggling very earnestly against the error, which was raging almost beyond my endurance, I felt myself lapsing into unconsciousness. Simultaneously with this suggestion of mortal mind came a great desire to feel God's presence. Instantly I was completely healed. This healing proved to me that God is omnipotent, supreme over all.
