FROM ANNUAL REPORTS OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COMMITTEES ON PUBLICATION

A Loving and Courageous Stand Heals and Protects

New Jersey

The basic purpose of Committee on Publication work, in which we are all partakers, is the Christian correction of impositions thrust on the public regarding Christian Science. (See Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, Art. XXXIII. Sect. 2.) In its broad sense, would not an imposition on the public include anyone who is either misinformed or uninformed concerning Christian Science? Accordingly, these very people offer Christian Scientists wonderful opportunities to put into practice Jesus' command, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

As we present Truth winningly, we will be progressively disarming the world—that is, the misinformed and uninformed of its medical and material mindedness. The end result is greater and greater protection for the Cause of Christian Science, because the more that non-Scientists become acquainted with its beneficent accomplishments and healing work, the more they will be willing to surrender the inclination to interfere with or restrict the practice of our religion. As a matter of fact, these very people, as they begin to be touched by our courageous stand for Truth and the love that prompts such a stand, have not infrequently gone out of their way to help us defend our religious rights and win new freedoms. Hence, a positive living of our religion among non-Scientists is proving to be a very practical, fruitful way of Protecting Cause of Christian Science.
