LOVE, THE HEALING PRINCIPLE

In her writings Mary Baker Eddy reveals God as the divine Principle of all true being. She points out that this Principle is ever operative; that it is the source of harmony; that the only real activity is the activity of divine Principle. And she explains that divine Principle is Truth and Love.

The realization of the operation of all-harmonious Principle solves human problems. Through reflecting the nature of divine Love one finds healing. If for one moment we can realize that being is spiritual and perfect, we can instantly solve any problem. Mrs. Eddy makes clear that if we truly understand and love God and man, we can instantly heal ourselves and others.

On page 20 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" our Leader says: "The truth is the centre of all religion. It commands sure entrance into the realm of Love." Our need is to realize that man is the image and likeness of divine Love. It is essential to turn often to the fact that man is that through which divine Love is made manifest. Christ Jesus said (John 8:32), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." In the proportion that we realize that all men in their true being are divine Love's children, abiding in Love's universe, we enter into the realm of Love. Thus we are enabled to demonstrate divine Principle, which operates to dispel hate, fear, envy, selfishness, and all that is unlike divine Love.
